Forget Blackbeard and rum, our pirate is Blackthorn and the spirit of choice is Irish whiskey.  We used crossed blackthorn sticks to give a faction-fighting vibe, a sneaky nod to early Irish-American gangs with colorful names like the Dead Rabbits, The Gopher Gang, and the Forty Thieves.
