The Irish Rose: a nautical tribute to all the loved ones we’ve lost along the way. The rose holds great significance within Irish culture. Throughout its troubled history, Irish poets and writers would express their patriotism covertly through romantic metaphors. Perhaps the greatest example is Róisín Dubh (little dark/black rose) which was a disguised name for Ireland. To this day it remains a popular name for bars and pubs around the world (including Boston).
